It should be noted that dozens of media from Greece and abroad have expressed keen interest in the event and are expected to flood the area on the evening of August 31st, in order to cover the event. “This is an event that will allow the city of Volos to ensure, once again, huge visibility within and outside the borders,” Mr. Skotiniotis and added that “the impact of the event proves that in times of crisis we need imagination and solutions, which without great financial cost succeed in supporting the planning for the future of tourism in the country”. At the same time, Mr. Skotiniotis, “once again an important message comes out: that Volos is a dynamic and cohesive society, with a strong volunteer movement and great organizational experience, which allows us to undertake major events.

Let me remind you that immediately after the sliding we will host the Women’s Synchronized Swimming World Championships, a top international event, which is a continuation of the World Junior Men’s Polo Championships, the Women’s Polo qualifying tournament for the 2013 World Championships and other important sporting events. It proves, once again, that Volos can respond with absolute success in hosting major events and I personally want to thank all the volunteers – dancers, who give their best to serve this very goal”. In conclusion, the Mayor of Volos invited the people of Volos to be present on 31 August on the beach of Volos and embrace the effort, declaring even now participation in the sirtaki.
