Agios Ioannis

To get to Ai Giannis we have to travel the 55 kilometres that separate us from Volos. It is a cosmopolitan resort of northeastern Pelion, which attracts thousands of tourists every year and is built on its beautiful white pebble beach. As a genuine cosmopolitan, Ai Giannis has a complete tourist infrastructure with many good hotels and pensions, rooms, restaurants, taverns, pizzerias, cafes, bars and entertainment centers. It is the destination where you can party until the morning if you want. For sea lovers there is the possibility of renting a small boat, a sea bike, a canoe (since there is a lifeguard station) or even a boat for those who wish to make a longer trip. Despite the cosmopolitan face that Ai Giannis presents, it retains many Pelion and traditional elements. Thus, the cultural events ”Pelia” and ”Argonautica” take place during the summer. The festival of Ai Giannis is on June 24 with the custom of Klidonas stealing the show, while the three-day feast that follows the feast of the Transfiguration of the Saviour on August 6 will fill every attendee with carefree fun.
